Hotel Information: The Sahara opened in 1952 and was one of the first hotel casinos in Las Vegas. Compact for easy access to all facilities and attractions, the hotel draws guests seeking less noise and the slower pace of a different era combined with modern amenities such as a business center and wireless Internet access (surcharges).Amenity highlights: A sundeck, palm trees, and fountains surround the Sahara Las Vegas Hotels 5,000-square-foot seasonal pool. Next to the pool, a large spa tub is set beneath a filigreed wrought-iron dome. Bar and towel service are both available.
Thrill-seekers and NASCAR fans covet the simulated race cars and indoor roller coaster, while nostalgia buffs head for the Congo Room to hear the Platters, Coasters, and other legendary musical performers.

Getting around: Travel up and down the Strip is quite easy. Guests can choose a city bus (less than $5), which runs the length of the Strip, or a private trolley (less than $5) that serves several of the larger hotels. Many guests choose to walk or take a taxi. Driving is also an option, as most casinos offer complimentary parking. For destinations outside the Strip, a rental car is the best choice. Rental cars are available online.
The Las Vegas Monorail ($5) operates along the Las Vegas resort corridor connecting major resort properties and the convention center. One station is the Sahara Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. It takes less than 15 minutes to complete the entire run. Stations are: MGM Grand, Ballys/Paris, Flamingo/Caesars Palace, Harrahs/Imperial, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton, and Sahara. The monorail operates from 7 AM to 2 AM on weekdays, 7 AM to 3 AM on weekends. Daily, multi-day, and multi-ride passes are available.
